About HD Sentinel... Through a highly convoluted maze of algorithms and, in our opinion, a less-than-efficient handling of SMART data, HD Sentinel performs lculations on drives, delivering a health percentage, and, in very generally stated terminology, a variety of other congruent information, as to the overall condition and remaining life expectancy based upon the algorithmic lculations it performs. Although a great piece of END ER MONITORING SOFTWARE, to provide an end-er with an ongoing snapshot of their drive's health, HD Sentinel has now become a staple and tool with many companies both as a fundamental test medium, and, as a sales and purchasing aid, which is not what HD Sentinel was designed for... Remember "the good old days" where a drive was tested as a healthy drive with Seatools or other utility, wiped with DoD or other means, and sold as a GOOD ED DRIVE, and, for the most part, our indtry worked and everyone was ually happy? Well... that's no longer the se... too many companies are now ing HD Sentinel as "their guiding light" in both their purchases, and in their sales... and, rightfully so - for those whom have nothing else to either guide them or provide a level of comfortability and confidence the drive is working and suitable for sale, (at in-hoe determined levels, which vary from company to company... What's missing from HD Sentinel, given its very rudimentary design and purpose is any built-in high-level-ability either repair and/or recertify those elements, which, algorithmilly-together lculate the health percentage. The major flaw within Sentinel, occurs In the se of drives which have been repaired and/or recertified... the ideal health percentage should be at or close to 100%, however, (as an example) a low level re-initialization performed in the HD Sentinel Pro version of a 30% drive, still reads 30% at its completion, as though no corrective work had been done on the drive. The same would hold true with other "basic" sector repair programs other than Sentinel, and read prior to and after with Sentinel... "tch-22 at best"... now has the technologil solution... our advanced FACTORY LEVEL hardware and software is, by far, the most advanced in the indtry, and will recertify your drives AT THE FACTORY LEVEL and turn that 30% drive to 100% in nearly every se...
